I was born in Fayetteville, North Carolina, and raised in the small town of Erwin, where I learned early that hard work, family, and responsibility go hand in hand.
I watched my grandfather and parents work tirelessly, making sacrifices for the people they loved. Today, as a rural postal carrier, I carry those same values forward, taking pride in serving my community.
To me, service is more than a job. It's about showing up, being dependable, and knowing that even the smallest responsibilities can make a difference.
But life taught me something more.
Hard work provides for today. Wise planning helps protect tomorrow. For my son, I wanted both.
When Life Tested Me.
After six years of dedication to my job, I was laid off. Suddenly, the security I had worked so hard to build was gone.
For six months, I struggled to make ends meet. I took on independent work through my own business, but it wasn't enough to provide the stability I needed.
I knew what financial uncertainty felt like. I had watched my parents work hard, face illness, and leave behind debt when they passed away.
Their struggles stayed with me.
I couldn't change what my family had experienced. But I could make different choices for my son and I was determined to give Brayden a different beginning.

Becoming a father changed the way I looked at everything.
I began thinking beyond the responsibilities of today and asking myself what kind of future I wanted Brayden to have.
